			<textContent>Khenpo Puntsok Namgyal learned to read and write when he was seven years old. He was ordained at the age of fourteen and studied with Khenpo Pema Damchok. In 1983 he began studying the Five Major Basic Texts. In 1986, he took up monastic vows and became one of the first students at the Dzongsar Kamje Buddhist Institute after the reconstruction of Dzongsar Monastery.  Phuntsho completed his studies of all the teachings and traditions of sutra and tantra and was qualified as a Khenpo (equivalent to a doctoral degree) at the age of 23.  He also completed the traditional three-year retreat.  Between 1992 and 1999, he taught Buddhism at the Institute and became the Abbot of the Dzongsar Kamje Buddhist Institute in 2000.Khenpo Phuntsho is very knowledgeable and amazingly progressive. Dzongsar Khyentse Rinpoche (©vÂÄ´Ü­õ¤¯ªi¤Á) foresees him as one of the most influential rime master and Khyentse lineage practitioner of our times ¡V a rare support from Rinpoche. </textContent>
